Unlike all of the others you will find online, or on YouTube, this one was not made with game making software like GameMaker or Multimedia Fusion. This was coded from scratch in C#. This was written entirely by me, and was started a few years ago in C++ as a project to improve my skills there. Once I got more interested in it as a game, and less interested in C++, I moved it over to C#. One of the primary goals of this engine is to be completely user customizable, both with editors and with XML files. When this is done, I want absolutely anyone to be able to make their own levels, or entire games. I have already started work on a tileset editor and a level editor. The constants like gravity and running speed will also be configurable. I obtained the current values from tasvideos.org/RockmanData.html. Eventually, I hope to make the whole project open source as well. Right now, the engine supports: * Tiles and sprites made from any image * Background music with both intro and loop sections, just like the real games * Stage select screen (also configurable with custom images) * Health and death, level restarting * Screen scrolling * All the basic Mega Man actions like sliding, shooting, climbing * Lethal tiles like spikes (not shown in video) * Simple enemies It does not yet support fancy things like slippery tiles, charge shots, boss doors or bosses, item drops and health recovery, or intro and stage selected animation screens.
